Imho the reduction of those many blurs lets you capture the essence of the image better. I think this style is really really beautiful.
Also, what do you mean by the blurs...??
With blurs I mean the air brush. You use a cell shading / air brush shading combination, right? Sometimes I consider it to be too much airbrush in combination with the cell shading so that nothing really stands out as a high light but that's just how I see it. What I mean is when doing cell shading it has its hard edges that define the shadows which offers simplicity but also "clearness" while airbrush is softer and not as, let's call it "harsh", dreamier, probably.
I really like combining them but I rather think it should be done to complement the other technique, meaning: I use cell shading and support it/strengthen its contrast by soft air brush or I use soft shading and add some highlight with hard shades, in a relation of maybe 70% : 30% (70% main style, 30% complementing style). In your style I think it's 50%:50% so that to me nothing really stands out and it sort of loses its striking effect.
But this is, like I said, my personal perception and taste, hence this is by no means a lecture! I just tried to explain what I mean. ^^
There is no right or wrong in art! You have to do the style you like.
I'm just the type that doesn't like too many elements that could already stand out on their own combined because I consider it an overkill or a contrast imbalance. I'm often attracted by simplicity so this is probably why.
So please don't think I want to talk badly about your art! I just saw this chibi and was like "wow, I really like this style!". So basically it was supposed to start out as something positive.
Don't worry, I didn't take it as an offense...
I am happy that you gave me your opinion..!!
Is this your oc? :3
